After Care
Congratulations on your new tattoo!
To ensure proper healing and to minimize the risk of infection, it's important to follow these aftercare instructions carefully.
Immediately after the tattoo:
Leave the second skin adhesive bandage on for 2-4 days. The bandage is designed to protect your tattoo from bacteria and prevent scabbing. Do not remove the bandage if there's blood or plasma oozing from the tattoo, as it may cause damage to the tattoo and increase the risk of infection.
Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and antibacterial soap before touching the tattoo.
2-4 Days after procedure:
Gently remove the bandage and discard it.
Wash the tattoo gently with warm water and antibacterial soap using your fingertips or a clean, soft cloth. Do not use a washcloth or loofah, as they may damage the tattoo.
Rinse the tattoo with warm water and pat it dry with a clean, dry paper towel or cloth. Do not rub the tattoo, as it may cause damage or scabbing.
Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare ointment or cream. Only use a small amount to avoid over-moisturizing the tattoo.
Cover the tattoo with clean, non-stick gauze or a sterile bandage if necessary.
During the healing process:
Wash the tattoo gently 2-3 times a day with warm water and antibacterial soap.
Pat the tattoo dry with a clean, dry paper towel or cloth. Do not rub the tattoo or use a hair dryer, as it may cause damage or scabbing.
Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare ointment or cream. Only use a small amount to avoid over-moisturizing the tattoo.
Avoid picking, scratching, or rubbing the tattoo. Do not peel off any scabs or flakes that may form, as it may cause damage or scarring.
Avoid exposing the tattoo to direct sunlight, tanning beds, saunas, hot tubs, or swimming pools for at least 2-3 weeks or until fully healed.
Avoid wearing tight clothing or anything that may rub against the tattoo.
Avoid excessive sweating or physical activity that may cause irritation or damage to the tattoo.
Keep the tattoo clean and dry, and avoid exposing it to dirt, dust, or other contaminants.
After the healing process:
Once the tattoo is fully healed, you can stop using the tattoo aftercare ointment or cream.
Always apply sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to protect the tattoo from fading or damage caused by UV rays.
Avoid exposing the tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning beds for extended periods of time.
Keep the tattoo moisturized and hydrated with a gentle lotion or moisturizer.
If you experience any signs of infection, such as fever, swelling, redness, or excessive pain, consult a healthcare professional immediately.
By following these aftercare instructions, you can ensure that your tattoo heals properly and looks great for years to come! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact Me or a healthcare professional.
